ENTRY FEE:                                      $5.00 Entry Fee per animal (non refundable)

 

 

RULES & GUIDELINES:

 

  1. Entry forms with notarized hold harmless and entry fee must be turned in by 5:00 p.m., Friday March 5, 2010 or postmarked by March 2, 2010.
  2. Animals must be checked in at the Putnam County Fairgrounds from 9:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 20, 2010 for Veterinary Inspection.  A current health certificate, within 90 days, must be present at this time.
  3. Animals not checked in during this time, will be considered “No Shows” and will be deleted from the Show.
  4. All Animals must be participating in the scrapies eradication program and provide U.S.D.A. number.  Call 352-333-3120 or visit www.aphis.usda.gov/vis/scrapie for information.
  5. Animals must be in acceptable condition, horns must be filed or dehorned, trained to be handled and led.
  6. There will be NO body clipping of goats allowed at the show.  However, you may do minor trimming, washing, grooming and fitting as necessary for show appearance.
  7. Exhibitors will be limited to a total of three (3) entries which can not be in the same class.
  8. Exhibitors must provide their own feed and water containers.  Penning will be an open area where goats must be tied on a chain provided by owner.
  9. Premium money and awards should be picked up before leaving the show.  The Putnam County Fair will not be responsible for awards and premiums not picked up.
  10. Exhibitors are to use the livestock entrance on Yelvington Road
  11. Only the Exhibitor showing the animal will be admitted free.  All helpers and family with exhibitor will be required to pay the fair admission fee.
  12. Grade or registered animals of Major breeds may be shown.  Only females or wethers may be shown, NO BUCKS.
  13. The Grand and Reserve Grand will be chosen from the winners of each Class.
  14. The Putnam County Fair reserves the right to limit the number of entries.
  15. Peewee Showmanship Class all exhibitors will receive blue ribbons.  This is a learning class, peewee exhibitors may have one helper in the ring.

Class one                under 12 months of age (never freshened)

Class two               13 – 24 months of age

Class three            Milkers under 2 years of age

Class four               2 – 4 years of age

Class five              5 years and over

 

Meat Goats

 

Class six                 under 12 months of age

Class seven           13 – 24 months of age

Class eight             2 – 4 years of age

Class nine              5 years and over

Peewee                   Ages 7 & under (as of March 20, 2010)

Junior                     8 – 10 (as of March 20, 2010)

Intermediates       11 – 13 (as of March 20, 2010)

Seniors                   14 – 19 (as of March 20, 2010)

 

PREMIUMS AND AWARDS

All participants will receive modified Danish awards in addition to placing.  Danish premiums are as follows:  Blue $4.00, Red $3.00, White $2.00
