ELIGIBILITY:

Must be a resident of Putnam County



ENTRIES:

Any entry is one bird.  A bird cannot be entered in both divisions.

LIMITATIONS:

Any one exhibitor may enter up to five (5) entries, which means one exhibitor can show up to five (5) fowl (One bird per cage).  This number is subject to change without prior notice

NOTE:  This is not a sanctioned show.

RULES & REGULATIONS:

1.              The exhibitor must own all animals at least 30 days prior to the fair.

2.              Exhibitor may enter five (5) entries.  This number is subject to change without prior notice.

3.              Poultry may NOT be placed in cages until approved by the Florida Department of Agriculture Inspector.  The Florida Department of Agriculture will have an official present on Saturday, March 20, 2010, from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., to perform blood test on all poultry.

4.              All animals will be tested for negative pullorum-typhoid through a blood test.  Therefore, poultry will not be accepted at any other time.

5.              The livestock committee reserves the right to refuse the entry of any fowl which appears to shows signs of disease, sickness, infested with mites, lice or fleas, or which is not of credible show quality..

6.              The Livestock Committee will provide individual entry exhibit signs.  No other exhibit signs will be displayed unless approved by the Livestock Committee.

7.              The Putnam County Fair Authority will provide feed, water, and cages for the Open and Youth Poultry Show during the week of the fair.  An attendant will feed and water the entries during this week.

8.              Exhibitors will be exhibiting their own birds and will do so at their own risk.  NO LOCKS ON CAGES BY EXHIBITORS ARE ALLOWED.  The Putnam County Fair Authority, Inc. will not be responsible for loss by accident, fire, theft, or providential destruction.

9.              The Modified Danish System of judging will govern this show.

10.           The decision of the Judge is final.

11.           Entries must be on official entry forms.  Forms are available from the Putnam County Fair Office or the website www.putnamfairandexpo.com and maybe picked up prior to March 5, 2010, between the hours of 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.  Forms MUST be returned to the Putnam County Fair Office  by March 5, 2010, by 5:00 p.m.

12.           OPEN SHOW – anyone nineteen (19) and up, interested in exhibiting poultry and are residents of Putnam County.

13.           YOUTH SHOW – anyone eighteen (18) and under, interested in exhibiting poultry and are residents of Putnam County.

14.           No premium money will be paid without having all of the correct information on their registration form and all requirements meet.

15.           No passes will be given to exhibitors.

16.           Birds may be removed after awards ceremony, March 27, 2010.  Any bird removed from the show prior to this time without consent of the Livestock Committee Co-Chairs, will forfeit all awards.

17.           Exhibitors MUST make their own arrangements for delivery and pick up of all exhibits.  The Putnam County Fair Authority will not be responsible for any exhibit left after the date and time set for pick-up.  NO EXCEPTIONS…

18.           Awards and premium money will be paid on March 27, 2010, at awards ceremony.

CLASSES:            ENTRIES IN EACH Division will be classified as Follows:

                Commercial Egg & Meat Type Chickens:

Females:  White Leghorn, Rhode Island Red, Barred Plymouth Rock, White Plymouth Rock, Sex-link and similar breeds.

Males:   White Leghorn, Rhode Island Red, Barred Plymouth Rock and White Plymouth Rock and similar breeds.

                Purebred Male or Female, Standard:

                                Standard sized birds of exhibition breeds.

                Purebred Male or Female, Bantam:

                                Bantam sized birds of exhibition breeds.

                Turkeys:

                                All breeds.

                Waterfowl:

                                Ducks and Geese.

                Miscellaneous:

                                Pheasants, peafowl, doves, pigeons, guineas, quail, etc.

                Mixed Breeds (Crossbreeds):

The APA’s Standards of Perfection does not have standards for mixed breed (crossbreed) poultry, so such birds will receive a white ribbon.

                Red ribbon and $3.00 premium money

                White ribbon and $1.00 premium money
